Top Class: The Life and Times of the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers is an American documentary television series about the Sierra Canyon School boys' basketball team in Chatsworth, California, executive produced by LeBron James and Maverick Carter. The first season premiered on February 26, 2021, the second season premiered on December 17, 2021, and the third season premiered on October 31, 2022, all on Amazon Freevee.
Summary
editIn season one, following back-to-back state championships, the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers face the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic as it brings their season to a halt just before the state championship game. Led by head coach Andre Chevalier, the team's high-profile class includes BJ Boston, Amari Bailey, Bronny James, Shy Odom, Zaire Wade, and Ziaire Williams.[1]
In season two, the Trailblazers resume their season after taking off an entire year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the departure of graduating seniors Boston, Wade, and Williams, the team is now led by Bailey, Odom, and James, who begins the season out with an injury.[2]
Production
editOn January 15, 2021, it was announced that IMDb TV (later renamed Amazon Freevee) was teaming with LeBron James and Maverick Carter on a new docuseries about high-profile high school athletes just outside of Los Angeles.[3] The series would be executive produced by James and Carter through their company Uninterrupted.[3]
On May 3, 2021, it was announced that the series had been renewed for a second season.[1] On May 2, 2022, it was announced that the series had been renewed for a third and fourth season.[4]

editSeason 1 was released on IMDb TV on February 26, 2021.[3] Season 2 was released on IMDb TV on December 17, 2021.[5] Season 3 was released on Freevee on October 31, 2022.
