Firstlight Broadcasting Network, also known as Firstlight TV began broadcasting 24/7 nationally in New Zealand on the 17th September 2012 at 6pm via the Freeview|HD (UHF terrestrial) network on Channel 26. Broadcasting on Freeview Satellite (also on Channel 26) and on SKY (Channel 206) was added on the 17th September 2016 exactly four years later. Since 2012, Firstlight TV has been bringing God's loving last day messages of hope to the people of New Zealand.

Firstlight is run by a team of dedicated volunteers whose mission is to proclaim God's love throughout New Zealand. Firstlight broadcasts the best selection of ground-breaking Christian programmes sourced from 3ABN, Amazing Facts, It Is Written, Amazing Discoveries, Secrets Unsealed and other international and local New Zealand sources, as they become available.

While Firstlight's programmes are based on Christian principles, the programme topics are of interest to the general public and not just limited to a Christian audience.

One of the greatest features of Firstlight TV is that there is no commercial advertising on Firstlight TV. It is funded entirely by its viewers and other supporters.

Since 2018 Firstlight's TV stream is being aired in selected parts of South America in and around Grenada West Indies and Suriname through a sister organisation, the Global Family Network.

In 2019 the Firstlight App and the website associated with the Firstlight App, Firstlight.online was developed which offers the livestream, catch-up and video on demand to viewers all around the world. This enables people everywhere who love Firstlight TV to take Firstlight with them wherever they go.

Also in 2019, a delayed time shifted Firstlight TV stream is being sent to Freeview in the UK via Vision TV - https://www.visiontv.co.uk/channel/firstlight
