The book Three Wise Cats is by Harold Konstantelos and Terri Jenkins-Brady. It is based on the bible story, Three Wise Men.

The Story

An old siamese named Ptolemy, a chocolate tabby she-kitten named Keiza, a black male kitten named Ira, and a black female kitten named Abishag. Ptolemy tells the three kittens they must find the Messiah (Jesus)and worship him. On they way, Ira get stomped on by a horse and breaks his leg. Gracus (the owner of the horse)takes them in as his own because he had a dream that showed the same three cats at the same exact place. Eventually, they get on a boat and it begins to sink. They survive the drown and soon find the baby Jesus. In the end, Abishag gets pregnant with Ptolemy's kittens. She see's a pure white t on her black chest and knows that it was meant to represent the cross that Jesus would die on when he grew up to cover our sins. Keiza, Ira, and Abishag get separated in the end but Abishag and Ptolemy stay together.

Ptolemy

The old an wise siamese cat has been caring for his owner, an astronomer, for his whole life and doesn't believe that he would make it if he was left alone. Evan if the astronomer had died, Ptolemy would have still not gone. The prophecy said that there would be three. He knew it was the three kittens who were meant to go. He knew that if he went anyway, he was to old and would not have made it to the end of the journey.
