I am a strong advocate of the wikipedia project. I have been a user for many years and a financial supporter since 2010. I have just registered and hope that I can make a useful contribution. Regarding the topics in which I am interested, I have found it difficult to contribute. Many more learned, erudite and eloquent members have already constructed excellent articles.
The existence - on top of the excellence of the articles - of wikipedia has confirmed my hope for the future of humanity. In spite of all of the deleterious behaviour of this species, reported daily in the "news" media, wikipedia is living proof of the essential "goodness" and community minded spirit. It takes only a few "wreckers" to spoil it for the rest of us but the wikipedia structure seems to be successful at weeding them out.
