About me

I am a Junior in high school and a running-start college student living in the Pacific Northwest. I have lived here my whole life. I like the weather; it is kind of a neutral place to live. The best part of it is it doesn't get too cold or hot; it just rains a lot. I like to mess around with cars and trucks in my free time, as a kid. I was obsessed with them. My first car was a 2000 Toyota Camry. I loved that car and installed an audio system in it. My Wikipedia Interests

I am trying to increase my writing interests, I'm interested in the automobile industry, as I have stated before. Also, I am interested in this because there are a lot of articles on different companies and automobiles. So hopefully I can learn from these articles/pages and try and do my research. Then I can try to edit and improve these pages based on what I am learning outside of Wikipedia. As I edit I would like to contribute to history and only expand the info; that's what I hope to accomplish. As a volunteer, I hope to some day improve this application.

Article Evaluation

I've always been thinking about the history around the area I grew up in and during that research the Monte Cristo. The Everett Monte Cristo railway runs between Everett and the cascade mountains. It was built to run gold and silver ores from the mountains to Everett. I visited the article on Monte Cristo railway Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on:its lack of citations, lack of reliable sources , and the underrepresented viewpoint .

Lack of citations

There are citations in this article, but some sections don't have any citations, just hyperlinks that go into different Wikipedia articles. There is nothing that goes to the references on the bottom, so some of this information is not verified. They talk about the amount of tourists that first used the train but doesn't list a source or have a citation. I feel like if your gonna talk about numbers then you have to have something to back it up otherwise.

Lack of reliable sources

Most of the sources that they have are books and the rest are newspapers. But there are 2 sources in the references that are not reliable are a PDF, that just states the station and the miles in the 7 western states that is, source number 7.They are talking about construction and dates that are not even part of the document, and I don't believe that the source is actually true. Because it says northern Pacific railways on top with no address or phone numbers. So I don't think that a good source to believe; furthermore, the other PDF source number 5, leads nowhere; it says it's a page that doesn't exist. I feel like who ever created the article should circle every couple months to go.

Under Represented view point

While the article does talk about all of the major viewpoints, it rarely touches on one point. The point I noticed that it barely touched on is the model railways, I feel like that is one of the articles biggest point. Because model railway sets are really famous and if they are based on a small railroad in Washington state is a big thing. That meant the scenery was truly beautiful.

Conclusion

After analyzing this article I would say this is a decent article for a first time viewer. The information they provide is good but as i said above they need citations. I would like them to fix the dead link and then would like them to explain why they used the number 5 reference.I also feel they should also grow there point about the model trains being based on the Monte Cristo railway.
