New article name goes hereMrs. Cecelia Cuffy-Brown was born on November 25th, 1964, unto the union of Mr. and Mrs. George N. Cuffy, Sr. in Greenville, Sinoe County, Liberia. She is the 3rd of 8 siblings. She is married and has several children, biologically, by adoption and mutual understanding. Mrs. Brown started her grade school education in the early 1970s. In 1984, she graduated from The B. W. Harris Episcopal High School, Monrovia, Liberia. In February, 1986, Mrs. Brown enrolled at the Don Bosco Polytechnics, now Stella Maris University. In 1987, she obtained a diploma in Secretarial Science and in 1989; she obtained an Associate Degree in Business Management from the same University.

She continued at the same institution in pursuit of a Bachelor Degree, majoring Business Administration, until 1990 when the Civil War ensued. Few months after enrolling in college, Mrs. Brown knew that in order to pay the high cost of tuition at Stella Maris University, she had to work full time. She applied at several local banks, as well as the National Port Authority. In April of 1986, she gained employment at the National Port Authority, as a Procurement Clerk.

In 1988, Mrs. Brown got legally married to Ambassador Roger S. Brown. By 1984-1988, she acquired the portfolios of a student, a “professional”, “married woman” and “mother” with children. She gained the profession of every woman within the Liberian Society. She suffered domestic violence, emotional torture and mental abuse as a young married woman, wanting to pursue higher education. While this is difficult for many young women within the Liberian Society today, Mrs. Brown was never deterred. She managed each of these portfolios and still graduated with distinction from college. In 1994, Mrs. Brown travelled to the United States of America in pursuit of higher studies. She is a Master of Business Administration (MBA) , with emphasis in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree, with emphasis in Management, from Strayer University, Washington DC, United States of America. She is also a graduate of the Long and Foster School of Real Estate and Realtors and was licensed in 2008 by the State of Maryland and the Federal Government of the United States of America. Prior to entering Strayer University, she obtained a Certificate in International Business from the Prince George’s County, Community College, in the State of Maryland, United States of America. She is academically astute as is evident in the fact that she obtained a 3.583 GPA during her graduate studies. In 1986, Madam Cuffy Brown contribution to Liberia’s development began at the National Port Authority of Liberia’s Freeport of Monrovia, rising from the position of procurement clerk. She later assumed the post of Senior Secretary within the Legal Department until 1992, due to the Civil Crisis. In 1994, she joined the work force of the United States of America, where she sought employment and higher education. She has been blessed to have gained employment with many world class giant corporations such as Nordstrom Apparels Retail and Finance Corporation, Chevy Chase Bank, now Wachovia Banking, (the largest retail banking institution within the United States). She has earned the prestigious Hyundai Motors and Finance Corporation of the United States of America’s prestigious Council of Sales Leaders, Platinum Level Award, and (the highest accolade) awarded, to its top consultants. She has also earned the Honda Motors and Finance Corporation Gold Level Award as one of the corporation’s top consultants. These awards distinguish top consultants of the corporation. She also I also became the first female and black female sales manager for the College Park Franchise, one of Honda Motors largest franchises within Washington DC, Metro area of USA. In 2001, she was listed one of the Top 25 consultants for Honda Motors and Finance Corporation within the Washington DC metro area, which comprised of the State of Virginia, the state of Maryland, Washington DC and the State of Delaware. In 2002, She was awarded and inducted into the “PRESIDENT’S CLUB” as one of the 10 leading Consultants for the Rosenthal Automobile Dealers.

Currently, she is a Management Consultant, assigned within the office of the Managing Director of the National Port Authority, recommending and implementing management reforms within several departments of the corporation and its 4 ports, Monrovia, Buchanan, Greenville and Harper. She previously worked at the Liberia Maritime Authority, heading the “Beach Cleaning and community dwellers employment in accordance with Liberia’s Poverty Reduction Strategy. The Project employed 2000 communities’ dwellers, constructed communities toilets and hand pumps water wells, reducing poverty and created clean beach-communities for residents of West Point, New Kru Town, PHP South Beach, Sinkor and ELWA beaches.
