Disambiguation link notification
editHi. When you recently edited Washington State Office of Education Ombudsman, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bully (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Adultism
editRegarding the contradiction in Adultism, I don't see relevant discussion in the talk page. Are you suggesting I start a discussion? My position would be that the quote is unnecessarily divisive, and indeed unnecessary. --pmj (talk) 04:29, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

Category:Places names in Nebraska
editHi, I just closed the discussion on Category:Places names in Nebraska with a decision to listify and delete the sub-categories. Would you care to start the lists/toponymy articles, either on one page or two, so that the categories can be deleted? – Fayenatic (talk) 23:16, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
- I don't know if I did the process right, but I have created the lists and emptied the categories. • Freechildtalk 00:22, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
- Hi, sorry I didn't follow this up sooner. I see that you have made List of place names in Nebraska of Native American origin, but at the moment this does not include all the contents of Category:Place names of Native American origin in Nebraska; would you be prepared to add any others that you believe are of this origin? Also, a new list is needed to replace Category:Place names of French origin in Nebraska. If you are happy to make these then please let me know when you have finished and I will then get on with deleting the categories. – Fayenatic L (talk) 13:25, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

Sonia Yaco
editNot sure why that infobox is so important in Sonia Yaco and Keith Hefner (activist). It really adds nothing to the article, and takes up space. Your thoughts? Cheers, Kingturtle = (talk) 16:53, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
List of place names of French origin in Nebraska
editThere was no sense in keeping two lists that had different contents. So I went with the one that have the most links. The other list is still there but was converted into a redirect. If you would like to combine the best features of the two, I can show you how to use the data from the standalone list to populate the US list. Vegaswikian (talk) 05:43, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
Infobox problems with Omaha articles
editHave been adding photos to some of your articles on Omaha NRHP sites, and have discovered a problem in the infoboxes.
In two of the articles that I've looked at so far, Old People's Home (Omaha) and Packer's National Bank Building, the infoboxes appeared to have been copied from another article and then not completely edited to reflect the new article. In the latter, the infobox still bore the name "Blackstone Hotel", and most of the other information was incorrect for Packer's Nat'l Bank. In the former, the name had been changed, but the NRIS number, the construction date, and the coordinates appeared to belong to a different location.
If you're finding yourself burdened with a lot of free time, you might want to check the other articles that you wrote or to which you added infoboxes at about that time. I'll keep looking as I continue to add photos, but can't guarantee that I'll spot everything. Ammodramus (talk) 22:04, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

Eggerss-O'Flyng bldg, Omaha
editI finally got a photo to illustrate the Douglas Eggerss-O'Flyng Building, at 15th and Leavenworth in Omaha. However, I'm perplexed by the article name: specifically, by the "Douglas". I don't find that as part of the name in any of the cited sources; the NRHP nom form mentions that the man's name was "A. J. Eggerss". I have a sneaking suspicion that the article's creator (who hasn't been active since 2007) misread a document and attached the county name to the name of the building. Any thoughts on this? I'm inclined to rename the article, but thought I'd consult you first, as Wikipedia's Omaha authority. Ammodramus (talk) 22:26, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
- Also just illustrated Hospe Anton Music Warehouse. This is another one that I'd like to rename: in the NRHP, it's "Hospe, Anton Music Warehouse"; at the Nebraska State Historical Society's "Nebraska National Register Sites in Douglas County", it's "Hospe Music Warehouse". I'd like to name it "Anton Hospe Music Warehouse" or "Hospe Music Warehouse"; I'd prefer the latter, since it wouldn't require a defaultsort. Ammodramus (talk) 03:27, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
South Omaha photos
editGot down to the Omaha area last weekend and, among other things, got some photos of the east side of S. 24th Street between M and O. I've used one to illustrate South Omaha Main Street Historic District; but if you've got other South Omaha articles for which they might be useful, they're at Commons:Category:South Omaha Main Street Historic District. Ammodramus (talk) 18:14, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
- I've been meaning to write you. I saw all the buildings you've been posting up lately - awesome! Thank you thank you thank you for sharing those Ammodramus, seriously. I'll definitely be using the pics you posted. You listed them by block though, and while that fascinates me (where'd you get all the names from?) it might be challenging to find the building names in alignment with the block pics. Then there are pics you have that don't have articles yet, and that'll be a great new project for me! I'll have to make a list on the South Omaha Main Street article similar to North 24th Street#Notable locations. Anyway, thanks again! • Freechildtalk 18:21, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
- Glad that the photos will be useful. I got the building names from the nomination form for the South Omaha Main Street Historic District; most of the National Register nom forms for Douglas County are now online at the Nebraska State Historical Society's "Nebraska National Register Sites in Douglas County" pages. Nice resource, if you're thinking about expanding any of the articles you've written on NRHP sites in Omaha and elsewhere. As if you didn't have enough on your plate already... Ammodramus (talk) 03:36, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
- Also: Double-check the table you just added to the South Omaha Main Street article: the heading is "Cemeteries in Omaha", which I suspect is a cut-and-paste error. Ammodramus (talk) 03:49, 1 November 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Former hospitals in Omaha, Nebraska
editA tag has been placed on Category:Former hospitals in Omaha, Nebraska requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for four days or more and it is not presently under discussion at Categories for discussion, or at disambiguation categories.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. editWould definitely be appreciated. Smallbones(smalltalk) 04:32, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
The article JLofts on the Market has been proposed for deletion. The proposed-deletion notice added to the article should explain why.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Ammodramus (talk) 14:26, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

Omaha gangs
editDo you have a list of Omaha gangs along with their approximate territories? I see on one of your pages you have the North Omaha gangs listed but I am more interested in gangs centered around midtown/downtown/south. I cannot find any information online and the police are not helpful at all. From what I've seen of your work, you seem like my most promising option to gather this. Thank you for any possible assistance. 24.252.0.16 (talk) 03:04, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for writing. The OPD is the only entity that tracks that info, and they've actively sought to stop online sources from revealing independent collections of gang names and territories. My list only came from vandalism on the North Omaha page here. Good luck with your research, and feel free to share anything you find here. • Freechildtalk 03:26, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
