Women of Influence Awards: Canada
editWomen of Influence bills itself as a community dedicated to the celebration of the accomplishments and character of diverse women across Canada. Through events, courses, retreats, and a dynamic website of articles and spotlights, Women of Influence concentrates on changing the system and empowering women, not laying blame. Direct from the website and encapsulating the organization are four taglines: Get inspired; get connected; get informed; and get ahead. (https://www.womenofinfluence.ca/)
2020 Award Recipients
editWikipedia Edit-a-thon
editFor Open Education Week 2020 (March 2-6), select Ontario's post-secondary institutions are holding a Wikipedia Edit-a-thon. Given Open Education week's proximity to International Women's Day and evidence of the under-representation of women's voices in Wikipedia, both in terms of subjects of entries and contributors to those entries, all participating institutions are minding this gap and working toward bridging.
