Dr Guenter Froeschl is a specialist in internal medicine, tropical medicine and infectiology at the Department of Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine at the University Hospital, LMU Munich, Germany. At the Tropical Institute he heads the Teaching & Training Unit, which includes various training formats on International and Global Health, from short-term modules to the three-month Tropical Diploma Course DTMIH and the PhD Program Medical Research - International Health. His research interests include infectious diseases in low and middle income countries, non-communicable diseases and health systems. He is a board member of both the CIHLMU Center for International Health and Doctors of the World Germany. He also represents the Tropical Institute Munich in the Troped Network for Education in International Health. He has worked many times in humanitarian missions for various organizations.
