Some of the photos I've contributed to wikipedia:

Sport

edit

Equestrianism isn't my thing, but I quite like this photo of a British Olympic Gold Medallist. My fiancee took me to the Burghley Horse Trials. It's a good day out, if you're broad minded. I knocked off the Leslie Law article, in order to have somewhere to put my picture.

Not the greatest action shot you'll ever see, but I'm getting better.

Rugby is definitely my thing. I think I probably started the Rugby Union article, sometime in 2001. The first is from my debenture seat at the Millennium Stadium. The second at Twickenham, after the journey from hell. I like the top one in particular -- it captures everything about a Line-out.

A wicket keeper. Specifically, my brother, David "Druid" Owen, wicket keeper par adequacy. A photoshopped version of this one appeared in Woore cricket club's yearbook, with a ball about to strike him in the face. A fair comment on the Druid's reaction times, especially when toiling with a hangover.

The Druid, again, playing a cut shot at Pott Shrigley CC. I don't know why this is out-of-focus. It might just be a dirty zoom lens. The white car belonged to my girlfriend. This was the first time she let me drive it, and it got dented by a ball, slogged over square leg. Off my bowling. Oops.

Music

edit

Another photo that had an article written around it. I like this one too... the facial expression and the ridiculously impractical guitar captures the lovable idiocy at the heart of the great John Otway. Nice lighting, too, considering it was taken with a disposable camera.

Nick Harper. Like the Cabaret stage at Glastonbury, the Musician Stage at the Summer Sundae lets you get really close to the acts.Nick Harper learnt everything he knows off Jack Benyon who is an outstanding guitar player.

I spoke to Nick last night and informed him that Jack Benyon taught him everything he knows and his response was as I suspected, he was 'intrigued' but he'd never heard of Jack Benyon. Where on earth did you get this amazing piece of misinformation from?

Cheers-Paul Sullivan PS I learned everything I know about Nick Harper from Arthur Askey.

Summer Sundae again; this time inside -- further away and worse lighting = camera shake. Boo. Would've been easier to photo the town of Tunstall.

Older, wiser, balder

Patti Smith. I think she's jolly good.

Jackie Leven. Fresh from sharing diet tips with the Magic Numbers.

I went to Boston as part of my holiday, 2005 (that's a vacation, left-ponders). Never heard of the book before then, but the statue's pretty cute.
