Background
editI founded the digital accessibility team at the BBC in 2005 and managed it for nearly 18 years. Within that time I also managed technical accessibility standards as well as being heavily involved in content guidance, policy and I founded the BBC's Design Research team. I was also a founding member of The Readability Group who led research into font design accessibility, and I'm one of the founders and contributors to gamesaccessibilityguidelines.com
Before that I was a Brand Manager at the BBC and I combine the two as a consultant on accessibility and inclusion for branding systems for large corporates.
I have a particular interest in disability portrayal in on-screen and stage drama especially the reclamation of disability stories and incidental inclusion.
