Sydney to Newcastle urban corridor
The Sydney to Newcastle urban corridor is a megalopolis in the Australian state of New South Wales. It has a population larger than the country of New Zealand and comprises of the cities of Sydney, Gosford, Newcastle, Wollongong and the urban areas of the Central Coast, Hunter Valley, Blue Mountains and Lake Macquarie. This totals to a population of almost 6.5 million people. Accounting for a fifth of Australia's total population.
Its population mainly exists close to the coast which means the distance between the southern and northern most cities is 240km of constant urban development.
To the west of the megalopolis lies the city of Canberra, to the south lies the state of Victoria and in the north is the South East Queensland urban corridor.
