Mataruka Championship 🏆
The Mataruka Championship is a prestigious invitational golf ⛳️ tournament played bymembers of the Mataruka family in competition for the no 1 spot in the clan.
The 1st Mataruka to start playing golf was Mr OT, aka the shark 🦈 in 1997. He introduced his kids to the game and with time the sport grew in popularity amongst many Mataruka's.
The term "Mataruka Championship" was coined in 2014 when 4 Mataruka's OT, Paul Mark and Gerald competed for the title. Many championships have been played since.
The tournament attracted its 1st sponsor in 2021, Boss K, whose video of promising the winner a great prize went viral.
2023 sets to be the biggest one to date, and will be played by 6 players over 36 holes. For the 1st time in its history, this one will have live coverage as it unfolds. Not to be missed this one!!!
