History

1948: Launches with its first cast-iron grill, showcasing features that it would evolve to shape the modern charcoal grill.
1960s: Due to increased demand, Char-Broil begins mass-producing its gas grills.
1961: Patents the first grease-handling system for an outdoor grill, making grilling safer and easier.
1970s: The first to package the LP tank and grill in one box, revolutionizing the backyard grill industry.
1970s: Introduces the first electric grills, portable gas grills and table-top grills.
1980s: Introduces Certified Parts and Accessories, letting backyard enthusiasts’ grills look and cook like new.
1990s: Introduces new paints, easy-to-clean materials and features along with the now-ubiquitous electronic ignition system.
1997: Acquires the New Braunfels Smoker Company and adds more heavy-duty charcoal grills, smokers and accessories to its lineup.

2011: Introduces SABER® grills – a line of premium grills.
2011: Expands in the European market with the Dancook brand.
