Wikipedia has a lot of lists that should be featured and aren't. One of the natural dynamics of wikipedia is that people with very specific areas of interest tend to focus on articles that matter most to them, which can be very esoteric. It's also a simple fact that some of the broader, more encyclopedia lists are larger and therefore harder to bring up to Featured list standards than a shorter, more specific list that may require only one or two sources. This is why, for example, Amateur radio frequency bands in India is a featured list while, as of June 2009, List of Presidents of the United States is not. The lists below are in the latter category, comprised of the set of important lists vital to encyclopedic coverage that have not achieved featured list status. All editors are encouraged to work on them, or add lists that they think fit the criteria but are not mentioned.
