About GereonGG

Welcome to my user page, my name is GereonGG. I am interested in 20th-century history with a focus on the First and Second World Wars, Cold War history, and British and American politics to name a few. I also have a particular interest in the Waffen-SS, especially the 31st SS Volunteer Grenadier Division ‘Batschka’. I will refrain from using Wikipedia to endorse any form of political extremism, slander, biased agendas, or similar viewpoints., I try to do the right thing and follow the rules, if I have made any errors then please correct or inform me so I don't do it again. My aim on Wikipedia is to make factual and informative content related to these subjects for the reader's benefit in gaining more knowledge and information from a particular subject.

Work and Activities

This section is dedicated to my activities and work on Wikipedia. So far, I have primarily been editing historical pages in relation to Waffen-SS divisions, this is because a lot of these pages severely lack information or have historical inaccuracies. A few divisions I have edited so far are the 31st SS Volunteer Grenadier Division and the 37th SS Volunteer Cavalry Division ‘Lützow’. The 31st SS Division is the article I am most proud of so far and is my main priority with trying to add more information and references so that the article is extremely accurate, informative and reliable. The next article I aim planning to do is on the 22nd SS Volunteer Cavalry Division, which at this moment in time I'm gathering references and sources for in order to make it reliable and accurate.

In relevance to a discussion point that was raised on the 31st SS Volunteer Grenadier Division talk page, I have included the Serbian translations for the division name and the inclusion of Serbians as part of the men who made up the division because the book ‘For the Homeland’ says that the Abteilung Medical Officers were ethnic Germans from the Serbian Banat or the Batschka region. Despite it being uncertain or unknown specifically where they came from, the Batschka region is located within Southern Hungary and Northern Serbia (Vojvodina), so undoubtedly some Serbs would have been recruited into this division even if it is a small number. I aim to try and pack the page with as much useful and relevant information as possible and I do not have any intentions of being condescending or biased against a certain group of people, I have always tried to write in a neutral tone and be respectful to everyone and will forever continue to do so.

Affiliations and Editing Disclosures

This section is dedicated to disclosing any relationships with other users on Wikipedia. This is in adherence and compliance with the Wikipedia guidelines, as well as to help prevent any further confusion, mistakes or issues from taking place as I have run into problems in the past as a result of this. Firstly, I would to disclose my relationship with Davomme - a relative of mine, we share the same IP address which is the reason why I need to disclose this relationship. We do not share each other's accounts and do not intend to misuse Wikipedia for the benefit of one another. I have agreed to stay clear of each other's activities, refrain from editing the same pages and entering the same discussions, etc. I would also like to disclose my relationship with UrosNikol, whilst he isn’t a relative of mine and doesn’t share the same IP address as he lives in a different country entirely, we are close friends. However, the same applies. I do not intend to use Wikipedia to support a view or any other malicious actions.

There are no other relationships other than the ones I have already disclosed. I do not work on behalf of any other users or companies, I'm a completely independent user who writes articles periodically in my free time out of enjoyment and boredom trying to add as much information as possible to military and historical-related pages. I try my best to format my pages properly and give enough consistency within them, I do not have any bad intentions and only want to add more information for others to enjoy. If I have made any errors in these articles such as spelling, punctuation and grammar mistakes or any formatting errors then please either notify me or correct them as I want to make sure everything is perfect.
