I believe it is damaging to Wikipedia if people land on a userspace article that contains content that appears encyclopedic.

Here is a survey/audit of all the "keeps" at WP:MfD in January.

Potentially Damaging Userspace Keeps

• Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Britt25/sandbox for CVS/Pharmacy (keep)
  • Old version of a mainspace article, untouched for 1year+. Confusing to any unsavvy user that finds it.

• Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:ChanceYoungJr.Robert (keep)
  • A redundant fork of Ray Charles

• Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Lady Aleena/Television/Crossovers (keep)
  • Unmaintained article fork, that has disconcertingly attracted IP editors doing minor corrections to it! Could they have been confused into thinking it was a real article?

• Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Emilysw/A History of Acting: On the face of it (keep)
  • An essay completely unrelated to wikipedia in any form.

• Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Jislober (keep)
  • An essay completely unrelated to wikipedia in any form.

• Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:WikiPRNYC (keep)
  • A somewhat promotional CV (that looks like an article)

• Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Raul654/GoRight (speedy keep)
  • Some sort of "shit list". Was blanked after MfD.

• Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Kavc001 (keep)
  • Some kind of xbox clan page?

OK Keeps

• Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Adam Carr/My archive of original photographic contributions (SNOW keep)
  • A gallery of the user's photographic work, much of it in use at wikipedia

• Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Jw21/deUBdomain/notnarrow alt (keep)
  • A userbox that was offensive, but fixed and kept

• Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Rlevse/Application to date my daughter (keep)
  • Unrelated to wikipedia, but could never be mistaken for encyclopedia content.

• Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Macfloyd (speedy keep)
  • Not sure about this one.

• Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Krimpet/flaggedrevs (keep - closed early per WP:SNOW)
  • Was deleted by the owner after MfD.

  • Template to add a banner about flagged revs
