Giles Kyser (born James Giles Kyser IV, October 13, 1961) is the son of Master Gunnery Sergeant James Giles Kyser III, United States Marine Corps (Retired) and is a retired United States Marine Corps Colonel who served from 1985 until 2009. He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy (Class of 1985) and in his military career served as Rifle Platoon Commander, Heavy Machine Gun Platoon Commander and Company Executive Office with 2d Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, as the Commanding Officer of The Marine Silent Drill Platoon, as the Commanding Officer of Company F, 2d Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, as the Executive Officer of the Second Force Reconnaissance Company, II Marine Expeditionary Force, as the Commanding Officer of 2d Battalion, 2d Marine Regiment, as the Officer In Charge of the MAGTF Special Operations Section and Reconnaissance Occupational Field Sponsor within the Headquarters Marine Corps Staff, as a Current Operations and Contingency Operations Officer with the Special Operations Command Europe, as the Executive Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low Intensity Conflict within the Office of the Secretary of Defense Staff and as the Chief of Staff for the Deputy Under Secretary of the Navy. He retired from the Marine Corps in June of 2009 and now works within industry.
