Gizem Karaali[1] is a Turkish-American mathematician. She was born in Istanbul. She always liked school, which was good, because she ended up spending a lot of her early life in school, at Üsküdar American Academy, Boğaziçi University, and University of California, Berkeley. After a short stint at University of California, Santa Barbara, she is now at Pomona College. In other words, she is still at school, this time teaching.
She first started editing Wikipedia because of a partnership between Association for Women in Mathematics and Wiki Education Foundation.[2] She has recently committed to being bold.[3] She is not sure what the implications will be yet. But at least she will insert here this statement:
