MotoMan (TV Show)
editMotoMan is a car show on the Internet and On Demand TV hosted by comedian, MotoMan. The show premiered on January 11, 2010[1] and is based on the concept of taking an ordinary car guy and putting him through a gear head's wish list . As a major car guy, MotoMan pairs up in each episode with a new or recurring co-host made up of car company CEOs, race car drivers and people behind the scenes in the car world.
Studio
editMotoMan is based out of the Automobile Driving Museum in El Segundo, California. Each episode begins and ends in the studio and is then shot primarily on location around the world.
Recurring Characters
editOne of the key points of the show is MotoMan's interaction with multiple car people throughout an entire episode rather than featuring one cohost throughout the series. Key people from within the car industry make up most of these cohosts. They include Bob Lutz most recently of GM, Ralph Gilles of Chrysler, Mark Fields of Ford, Hurley Haywood of Porsche and Vaughn Gittin Jr, 2010 Formula Drift Champion.[2] Lutz, Gilles and Haywood have made multiple appearances.
WINACHEE
editWINACHEE is a green car journalist that has been featured in a number of full episodes as well as the short films. His left leaning persona provides a foil to the main host's Type A personality. WINACHEE served as the co-driver throughout the Targa Newfoundland[3] story arc. His character's name comes from the town in which he resides, Wenatchee, Washington.
Short Form Content
editMotoMan produces two short form film types. The MotoMan Minute introduces new car models by focusing on three points. What the car is, why it's important and demonstrating one unique point about it. The Exhaust Note goes more in depth on a new car or a key figure in the car world. As of June 2012, MotoMan has produced 46 MotoMan Minutes, 34 Exhaust Notes, 12 Promotional Clips and 2 Music Videos.
