From this graph we can see that english articles which have many links have many more links than german articles with many links.

editDomain resolution may be a good lower bound proxy metric for external link quality. Links which do not work can be removed without dispute or concern as long has someone has found them.
- EN: 60,863 domains from the set of 606,652 syntatically valid domains that enwiki articles link to were selected at random. Of these, 1.8% (1105) fail to resolve.
- DE: 22,942 domains from the set of 229,425 syntatically valid domains that dewiki articles link to were selected at random. Of these, 0.9% (222) fail to resolve.
