editLingus recorded 10 albums with The Pussy Shedders. He was featured on the 1991 demo and first half of the debut 1992 album for The Cockrells.
Personal Life
editLingus is the son of Mark Lingus (April 8, 1920–September 27, 1998) and Marcy Lingus nee Cash (June 26, 1921–July 9, 2006).
His siblings are Grace Lingus-Fields (b. December 9, 1945), Steve Lingus (October 4, 1942–February 24, 2007), and Frances Pearl Lingus-Jacobs (b. March 18, 1949).
Lingus has 4 kids; Edward Christopher “Eddie” (b. 1966), Molly Elizabeth (b. 1970), Mark Roswell (b. 1972), and Jason Robert (b. 1973). All four are musicians, and both Eddie and Mark are rumored to be joining the Pussy Shedders as Saxophonist.
Death
editLingus died by Suicide on June 25, 1992 in Portland, Texas. He had just finished a concert when he went back on stage (the audience had left by this point) and shot himself in the head. He had suffered on and off from Depression since 1986.
Errors in death
editUp until 1995, Lingus was incorrectly believed to have died in Portland, Tennessee. There was also incorrect reports that he died at his home in New York.
