editHill currently lives in Mount Vernon, New York with his wife Lauren (B. 1947), who he has been married to since 1966.
Hill’s son Mayson is the current drummer for Jon & the Pussy Shedders.
Tornado Incident
editHill was injured in the March 24, 2023 EF-4 Rolling Fork, Mississippi tornado while visiting family. The Cockrells postponed several performances in the weeks after, but then hired drummer Chris Gibson to fill in for Hill until he recovers from his injuries.
