Kamala Miri
Kamala Miri was an Indian freedom fighter who hailed from the Mising tribe.He was born in a very backward village area called Opartemera Mising village under Rangamati mauza golaghat in the year 1894.
Martyr Kamela Miri was sacrifies his life without fear for the independent from colonial British rule on 23rd April 1943 at jorhat Central jail ,assam.like other leaders of freedom movement he took active part in the movement of 1942.He became an active member of the district Congress committee on March 1940.He was appointed as 'propagrator' of the Congress and chief of the 'Santi Sena organisation 'of golaghat on 24th June 1940,the belongs to Mising tribe of Assam,India. Martyr kamala Miri was always demand justice for exploited and backward classes of the region from British rule. He used to awareness against drugs ,aphing,banned foreigners cargo cloths. On the night of 23rd September ,1942 he was arrested in a police raid.On 8th October,1942 he was continued for 8 month by Magistrati Ashu Dutta,and was send to jorhat jail. He breathed his last in mignight on 23rd April,1943,in the lap of Naranda Nath Sharma(a co_prisonar).
