Welcome

My name is Gonza Gertrude Agatha, I am a telecommunications engineer from Kampala, Uganda. I speak English, Lugwere and Swahili fluently. My tech stack Python, React, C, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, NodeJS, express. I'm a member of Wikimedia community of Uganda and Open Source Kampala.

I am interested in the economic prosperity of Uganda and Africa. Thus I intend to dedicate my tech career to that goal. During the covid pandemic, I started an online business to connect rural farmers to urban markets. Although the business failed, the experience and skills gained were valuable. These, I pass on to the young entrepreneurs in Jim Leech MasterCard foundation fellowship where I volunteer my free time as a mentor. I help entrepreneurs with tech ventures to develop business strategies and to pitch to investors in the DDQIC competition.

I am also very much interested in education. I deployed Ghana's national curriculum on Toolforge and helped build an interactive tool that helps to visualize national curriculum stored in Wikidata. The project is part of the Wikimedia's goal to enhance the educational experience of students by making sure that the information available on platforms like Wikicurricula corresponds to what students are studying in their classrooms. You can learn more about the project here

This year, I'm helping Queering Wikipedia to organize local and hybrid events for the QW 2025 conference.

I'm always looking out for opportunities to contribute to open source projects.
