Coldplay's first release, the limited demo Safety, was released in 1998, and their debut studio album, Parachutes, was released two years later, in July 2000.
Coldplay have sold over 50 million albums and singles worldwide,[1] and are also known for singles such as "Yellow", "The Scientist", "Speed of Sound", "Talk", "Violet Hill", the Grammy Award-winning "Clocks" and "In My Place", and the two-time Grammy Award-winning "Viva la Vida". The band will release their fifth studio album in 2011.[2]
