Mullvad is a personal virtual private network (VPN) service that puts user privacy first and foremost in all operations.[1]

History

edit

Mullvad was launched in March 2009 by Amagicom AB.[2] In July 2010, Mullvad started accepting payment through Bitcoin, and in September of the same year, it started to accept plain cash as credit.

Service

edit

Mullvad has always supported connections via the OpenVPN protocol, however, as of March 2017, it also supports WireGuard.[3][4]

Privacy

edit

Mullvad is noted for not requiring an email to register for the service.[5][6]
