American author, scholar of women's studies, and activist in the anti-nuclear/safe energy movement. Anna Gyorgy was among the founders of the United States resistance to nuclear power and an early member of Clamshell Alliance. She is perhaps best known as editor and principal author of No Nukes: Everyone's Guide to Nuclear Power (South End Press, 1979), an authoritative early book on nuclear power and the movement to resist it.
She is currently Coordinator of the Women and Life On Earth Internet project, which combines peace activism and a feminist perspective.
