Super confused
editHello dear sir or madam. You were not a complete jerk to me once and so I'm hoping you can answer a seemingly obvious question that has totally befuddled me. LostInTheSauce445 (talk)
- Sure thing LostInTheSauce445. How can I help? ApparentMasterOfWikipediaFromTheirPerspective (talk)
I was trying to add an image to my article and it displays REALLY HUGE and not like it does on other articles. Someone linked me to WP:IMAGE, and I spent the last 45 minutes looking through links there, but I don't see anywhere where it says how to fix it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by LostInTheSauce445 (talk)
- No problem LostInTheSauce445. I'm going to ignore the fact that you forgot to sign your comment, since it was obviously a mistake, and I see that you recently tried to add File:Smiley face example true C.jpg to Wikipedia:Example, because I took the time to look at your recent contributions. Instead of delving into the complexities of .png versus .jpg file formatting, I'm going to explain that you forgot to include
|thumb|
in the markup, which I've cleverly formatted in my comment using <code></code> to make it clearer what I mean. Now I'll give you an example to make it even more clear. So instead of the markup looking like this[[File:Smiley face example true C.jpg|Super duper caption]]
, it should look like this[[File:Smiley face example true C.jpg|thumb|Super duper caption]]
I've even taken the time to underline and bold the important part, so it's absolutely as clear as humanly possible. Hope this helps. ApparentMasterOfWikipediaFromTheirPerspective (talk)
Awesome! That fixed the problem. Thank you very much. LostInTheSauce445 (talk)
