I'm a librarian in Kansas. I work primarily with Kansas government publications and cataloging.
I have updated a few links for Kansas county articles so far. I joined Wikipedia in early October, 2005.
Our library finds many of the articles within Wikipedia great resources for basic research in a subject area. With this in mind we began cataloging Wikipedia articles a in September, 2005. We started doing this with the articles on Hurricane Katrina and have moved onto articles on Kansas or of interest to Kansans.
By cataloging Wikipedia articles we provide subject and title access to records within our online catalog which have direct links to those articles within Wikipedia.
You can test this out by going to: http://lib.wuacc.edu/
Click on KEYWORD and type the word, wikipedia, in the search box. Then click on the SUBMIT button below or press the ENTER key on your keyboard. Or better yet, just click on this link: http://lib.wuacc.edu/search/Xwikipedia
We have over 1,0000 records in our library catalog connecting our users to Wikipedia articles. It's a great way of connecting people to information at sites such as Wikipedia.
