Tagging new pages with wikiproject tags exposes them to experts in the relevant topic area quickly. This increases collaboration, newcomer experience, and quality of the article.
How to get started:
- Install this script User:Gryllida/js/draft-rater.js (or another wikiprojects tagger)
- Install this script User:Gryllida/reply-link.js (or another replier to talk page messages)
- Leave this tab open (it has canned responses which may be useful to you).
- Open Special:NewPagesFeed in a new tab.
The process:
- From the new pages feed open a draft in a new tab. Select the articles for creation queue at the top of it.
- A textbox will appear next to its 'talk' tab. Here you can type WikiProject names. After each of them press Enter. (If you are not sure which, check other articles.)
- After you are done, press Enter in an empty text box. It will wait about 3 seconds and show which user it notified of the addition of the project tags, "Notified Foobarbaz" where Foobarbaz is a link to their talk page.
- If there is an issue with the article, click this link. In the section where they are notified of addition of wikiproject tags for this draft click 'reply' (script reply-link linked above) and copy/paste one of the canned responses below into the text box. Supply an appropriate edit summary and click 'Reply'. Then the draft author will receive your feedback.
- Once this is done, close the tabs related to this draft, return to the new page feed. Repeat the process for another draft.
