Professor David Brooksbank BSc (Wales) MSc (Bristol) PhD (Wales) PGCEd FHEA FRSA CCMI
David Brooksbank (born 1st July 1966) is Pro Vice-Chancellor (Enterprise) and Dean of the Cardiff School of Management at Cardiff Metropolitan University. His portfolio covers the commercial activities and business engagement agenda of the University and as Dean he is responsible for a School with over 10,000 students studying Cardiff Metropolitan University programmes across the globe. A Professor of Enterprise, with numerous academic publications in his areas of research interest, he is well known across the UK and Europe for his work on enterprise education, regional economic development and enterprise policy. David has served as Vice-President of the Institute of Small Business & Entrepreneurship and on the steering group of the Welsh Government’s Youth Entrepreneurship Strategy. He is Vice Chairman of Venture Wales and is a regular commentator in the local and national media. Brooksbank's commercial consultancy and applied research has included Knowledge Transfer Partnership supervision (most recently with Finance Wales), as well as work on a range of economic development strategies for local and national agencies. He was a Director of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor project in Wales for eight years and has developed numerous EU funded projects focussed on developing a better understanding of enterprise and entrepreneurship, including a portfolio of undergraduate and Masters level qualifications.
