Landry Fields (born June 27, 1988) is an American college basketball player who currently plays for the Stanford University Cardinal.
High school career
editFields attended Los Alamitos High School in Los Alamitos, California. Fields was a three-year letterwinner and captained his team during his junior and senior season.[1] Fields was also heavily recruited by Arizona coach Lute Olson and by Gonzaga University. Fields ultimately chose to play for Trent Johnson for the Stanford Cardinal. Fields joined Robin Lopez and Brook Lopez to create one of the top recruiting classes in the nation. [2]
Collegiate career
editFields had an immediate impact for Stanford as a freshman, playing 14 minutes per game off the bench. Steadily improving his numbers every year, Fields went into his senior year as one of the top returning players in the Pac-10.
Fields finished his senior season leading the Pac-10 in scoring and rebounding, despite playing primarily as a shooting guard and small forward. His average of 22 points per game was also good enough for eighth in the nation overall in scoring. [3]
