Hello! I'm Gabriel Toueg (Gtoueg on Wikipedia) and I'm originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, where I live now. I'm a journalist and I lived for nearly 9 years abroad, first in Israel (2004-11), then and in Chile (2015-17), working mostly as a freelancer news correspondent. I'm fluent in Portuguese (my mother tongue), Spanish, English and Hebrew.
I am very excited about the idea of being a Wikipedia editor and also a contributor to the Guerrilla Skepticism on Wikipedia (GSoW) project as I firmly believe in the importance of fighting fake news, revisionism and denialism. As a journalist, I feel that this is an especially important mission.
I'm a bookworm and I love reading about virtually anything, from wars to outer space. I'm a numismatist, which means I love collecting and learning from the world's currencies. I also like to travel (many countries still to visit!) and to send and receive postcards from all over the world. In addition, I love hosting foreigners at my home in Sao Paulo.
