The Gutian invasion of the Akkadian Empire was the last stepping stone for the fall of the Akkadian Empire. The Gutians, a nomadic people group who existed during the bronze age native to the Zagros mountains and east Mesopotamia in a area called Gutium(Sumerian: 𒄖𒌅𒌝𒆠, GutĆ«mKI or đ’„–đ’‹Ÿđ’Œđ’† , GutiumKI).[1] In 2218 BCE, the Gutians had established themselves in Sumer by invading the Akkadian Empire.[2] [3]And in 2083 BCE, they are blamed for the fall of the Akkadian Empire.
