The New Lew Johnson is a solo artist of the Acoustic Blues genre. He was born Louis Lawrence Johnson in Elkhart, Indiana on February 2nd, 1981. Primarily growing up on Bob Seger and Charlie Daniels, he learned the guitar quickly. His father, Edward Russell Johnson taught him the basics. When he was 16, he joined his first band, K.S.P. He played bass for a year, and then moved to rhythm guitar. When he was 24, he went out on his own to create acoustic music. He still loves his hard rock and metal, but is well at home with his solo acoustic work. The signature sound is a blend of Country, Bluegrass, Blues, and Latin guitar work. He rarely plays in bands, he likes the sound of one guitar and one voice. He learned a lot from B. B. King's philosophy that the blues should tell the world how you feel, and make the world feel you. The music is never perfect in the respect that, the changes are sudden, and not bridged. The New Lew Johnson currently resides in southern Indiana.
