Spec-Ops
Spec-Ops is a non profit group formed under the auspices of the Software Freedom Conservancy. [1]. Launched on 22 February, 2016, Spec-Ops has a simple mission. Identify critical standards activities and move them along. Put experts in the room who understand the technology, who know about the process of creating standards, and who have no specific personal or corporate agenda. Then let them get on with it. Edit the documents, write the tests, develop sample implementations. Whatever it takes to speed up the process. Because without standards, we can't move forward. And we need to move forward. Now.
