A short story from Michal Schott.
The Protagonist "Tamar Stein" is telling about her life, with her Mother. In the beginning she came with her mother by plane to berlin. Taking taxi to their appartment. Her mother tells her to go to a butcher an buy special kosher meet. But they don't have it. A female worker at the butcher tells her where she can find "mathza". Then she went to this jew store buying "gefilte fish". She asked for kosher bread, but they don't have it. then she went home. Mother tells her again what to buy, she left second time home. She went to the jew community, but there is also no kosher bread. Then she went to a grocery store. She finds a letter in the pocket of her mother, the letter is from Jakob, her mothers cousin. Then she is telling about jakob, that they sent him pakages when she was young. Then the mother is talking about him. After that they have some beef/fightin. And Tamar left the house alone. Then she tells about the berlin wall and jakob. Then we jump back to the grocery store.And she walked back to the apartment. Then she tells about the bad nightmares of her mother. Then they are talking in the kitchen about whats happend... and went sleeping again. Next day she does household stuff.
Now the mother is already dead and jakob too. She buys no kosher brad, "gefilte fish" anymore. She has her own daughter. She don't wanna leave the city, even she don't like berlin. then she is going to the grocery store to the fish man and telling him that her mother is dead even he is a stranger, but she got a free fish. Then she made fish and cryed. END
