The seventeenth season of The Bachelorette will feature Katie Thurston, a 29-year-old bank marketing manager from Lynnwood, Washington.[1] Thurston was a contestant on the 25th season of The Bachelor featuring Matt James. She went on to place eleventh. ProductioneditCastingeditThurston was named as The Bachelorette during the After the Final Rose special of the 25th season of The Bachelor on March 15, 2021.[1] The contestants have not yet been announced. Development and FilmingeditDue to the ongoing pandemic of the coronavirus, filming will not take place in the usual place of Villa de la Vina mansion in Agoura Hills, California, instead quarantining at a hotel and resort, similar to 25th season of The Bachelor and 16th season of The Bachelorette. Preproduction is currently being quarantined at Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa near Albuquerque, New Mexico.[2] Previous host Chris Harrison will not be returning due to the controversy of defending season 25 contestant Rachael Kirkconnell racist comments. He has since apologized.[3] Replacing him will be former bachelorettes Tayshia Adams of season 16 and Kaitlyn Bristowe of season 11.[4] The show is set to premiere in the summer of 2021.[1] Contestantsedit
