Save Our Schools!
editThe Portland Student Activist Alliance started out as Save Our Schools, a concept that began with a few friends, the students found that they were all fed-up with the overcrowded classrooms which lacked adequate seating, and after more discussion, they noticed a trend that bothered them, the fact that the Portland Public School system was so heavily underfunded that many schools used history books that were drastically far out of date. The Portland Public School District website even stated that "...Many of the textbooks and classroom materials in our schools are sorely out of date..."[1]
