Former Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh and former chairperson of National Commission on Backward Classes Justice M N Rao will be presented Sadbhavana Award on the eve of 26th Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Yatra Commemoration Day at a function to be held at Charminar on October 19. Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here on Wednesday along with TPCC official spokespersons B Kamalakar Rao and A Shyam Mohan, Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Yatra Commemoration Committee chairman G Niranjan said the selection committee selected Justice M N Rao for the Sadbhavana Award.

Niranjan recalled that Rajiv Gandhi hoisted Congress flag at Charminar and commenced his Sadbhavana Yatra in the twin cities on this day in 1990. The Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Yatra Commemoration Committee was observing the day as Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Yatra Commemoration Day and organising various programmes every year.

AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh, TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy, TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, AICC secretaries R C Kuntia, V Hanumantha Rao, G Chinna Reddy, former Union minister S Jaipal Reddy, CLP leader K Jana Reddy, Leader of Opposition Mohammed Ali Shabbir and several others would participate in the programme on October 19, Niranjan said. Earlier, Sadbhavana awards were presented to Ghulam Nabi Azad, Devanand Konwar, Abid Hussain, Prof Ch Hanumantha Rao, Justice Sardar Ali Khan, Zahid Ali Khan, Prof V Ramakistayya, Krishna Rao Naram, Mahmood Bin Mohammed, Dr Somaraju, Dr D Prasada Rao, P Narsa Reddy, Majji Tulasi Das, M Sathyanarayana Rao, Narendra Luther, Pothuri Venkateswara Rao, Marri Ragavaiah, Syed Rahamath Ali, Manohar Raj Saxena, Dr V N Waghray and M V Narayana Murthy.
