Hendrik (Drikus) Dreyer
editHendrik Nicolaas Botha Dreyer, born 3 July 1987, was a promising young cricket player in South Africa. Born in Vereeniging, Gauteng, Hendrik showed a lot of promise in the cricket world from an early age and represented Gauteng in every age level from primary school through to the end of Highschool.
In 2006, Hendrik was included in a training squad to represent South Africa at the 2007 T20 world Cup to be held in South Africa. Very early in his career he suffered a serious knee injury which meant that his promising career was cut short. Hendrik, considered by many to be the best fast pace bouler of is generation, was definitely missed at the 2007 World Cup as India were the ones who came out victorious.
Hendrik represented the University of Noth-West's 1st team on a number of occasions but the serious knee injury hampered his progress and he had to cut his whole career short.
Very little is known about his life after cricket. It has been mentioned that he did some courses in coaching and umpiring but it could not be confirmed as he has become a very private person after the lime light of semi-professional cricket.
