Henry Tadevosian (born 10 July 1990) is an Armenian Australian chef, restauranteur and well known YouTuber. He is best known on YouTube by his channel name "Henrys HowTos".[1]
Early Life
editHenry was born in Perth, Western Australia (King Edward Hospital)[2]. He is the youngest son of Hratch and Caroline Tadevosian. Younger brother of Hermond. He is of Armenian descent from Iran, known as Barsgahye[3]. Henrys family moved to Sydney in 2012. He resides in Bella Vista Waters, in Sydneys North West.
Career
editHenrys family opened their first family restaurant, Jazzveh Woodfired Pizza[4] in 2009. Located in Bella Vista Waters, Sydney. Having a strong passion for food and cooking, he quickly learnt how to cook on a commercial level and by age 19 he was the head chef running the busy restaurant. In 2013, The Tadevosian family opened their second family restaurant, Anais Taste of Persia in Norwest[5], in close proximity to Jazzveh. It was around this time that Henry realized their wasn't any videos on YouTube done by an actual restauranteur to show regular people how to cook or what goes on behind the scenes in restaurants. Henry himself decided to start making several videos on the basics such as making pizza sauce, skewering kebabs etc. to give people the confidence to cook at home whilst picking up on chef skills. Henry never anticipated to get more than 100 subscribers and planned on only making a few videos every month or so.
After uploading several videos based on kebabs from different countries in the Middle East, Henry realized these videos were going viral. There was a huge demand by viewers to see the chef in action. After all, most kebab videos were in languages other than English. Within month of starting YouTube, Henry was now uploading at least one video a week, in some cases 2-3, YouTube had now become more of a full time dedication then just a side hobby.
In 2018, Henry was awarded a silver plaque from YouTube for reaching 100,000 subscribers. As of May 2021, He has 310,000 subscribers. His most popular video is Chinese fried rice with over 12,000,000 views. [6]
