Reseach Interests
editMy current research interests lie in the field of natural language processing, computational linguistics, and information retrieval. I am particularly interested in automatic machine reading and semantic similarity, two related subtasks in the field of natural language processing. My current work is primarily focused on developing new text representation structures that will facilitate automatic question answering over texts written in a natural language. Additionally, I am proposing new methods for calculating semantic similarity between texts and working in a new similarity measure generalized from the well-known cosine similarity―the soft cosine similarity―but taking into account the semantic information of the features, which in the case of natural language processing can be words, n-grams, POS tags, etc.
I have a seven year experience working as an Oracle DBA and software developer in several enterprises of the public and private sector in Asunción, Paraguay. I also have two years’ teaching experience at the National University of Asunción, teaching a course of database administration and programming.
