Hi, I'm a new user and I'm here to correct any wrong doings to the religion Sikhism.
I'm a typical school girl from Australia. My heritage is with India but I am truly my own person. My parents are educated, my grandoparents are educated, etc... Do NOT think I don't know what I speak of...
Sikhism has been misunderstood for far too long.
For ONE.... It is NOT a branch of Hinduism (is it even a religion?) or Islam!
It is a religion with completely different views.
Equality for women! Banishment of Caste Sytem! Respect for all Living Organisms! Protection of the Weak! Free Food for Travellers!
What important value isn't acknowledged by this great religion?
Well, what about creation of the Earth? Sikhism states... "The world began as God exhaled breath." Symbollic of the Big Bang?
