The discography of American alternative rock band R.E.M. consists of fifteen studio albums, two live albums, eleven compilation albums, one remix album, one soundtrack album, eleven video albums, seven extended plays, sixty-one singles and seventy-seven music videos. The band was pivotal in the development of the alternative rock genre, with their musical style and breakthrough success serving as the inspiration for many other alternative rock bands and musicians.[1] R.E.M. has sold over 85 million copies of their studio albums worldwide, making them one of the best-selling music artists of all-time.[2]
