'John Sarno' was born in 1947 in New York City, and began his career in the Actor’s Studio, where Lee Strasberg noticed his work and invited him into the Exclusive Master Class at Lee's school. John Sarno went on to live with Lee and Mrs. Strasberg for many years.
In 1964 Elia Kazan signed John Sarno to a contract as an actor with the Lincoln Center Rep. John became a consultant to Arthur Miller for the play “After The Fall” and continued on as an actor and consultant to Jose Quintero.
John received a Golden Globe Award nomination for acting in the film “7 minutes”. John also received the Hollywood Motion Picture Council Award. He had a cameo role in the film “The Zodiac”. Past television roles include those on Baretta, NYPD Blue and Kojac, among many others.
John is best known for his uncanny ability to train others to become great actors. Coaching over 500 students, in both starring and co-staring roles, he continues to offer private lessons as wells as group classes. Many of these classes have been captured on DVD.
