Fowler White Burnett, P.A. is a prominent American law firm based in Miami, Florida. Tracing its beginnings back to 1943, it is one of the oldest continuously opertating law firms in Miami. The firm has additional offices in Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm Beach and has approximately 85 attorneys. Fowler White Burnett is managed by three Managing Partners; Edward J. Briscoe, Christopher E. Knight and Richard A. Wood together with its Executive Director, Patrick M. Kelly.
History
editFormation and growth
editIn 1943, Cody Fowler, an attorney with Macfarlane, Pettingill, Macfarlane & Fowler and Morris White, an attorney with Mabry, Reaves, Carlton & White left their respective firms to form the partnership of Fowler and White in Tampa, Florida.
Both men were very active in community service and pro bono efforts. They believed that there was more to practicing law then handling cases, and that community service allowed the firm to meet and establish relationships with future clients while staying in tune with community.
In 1950, in order to better serve their gorwing client list, the firm opened a Miami office. In 1952, Henry Burnett would join the firm and was the seconed attorney to be based in the Miami office.
