The International Union of Minimalist Women (UIFM)
editThe International Union of Minimalist Women (UIFM) is a non-profit organization, headquartered in Montpellier. The founder and president is MARWA DHIFALLAH; Doctorate in chemistry and physico-chemistry of materials from ENSCM (France) [1]. The association's founding general assembly took place on March the 20th, 2021, and the association currently has about twenty members of the board and honorary members, most of whom are doctors and doctoral students in chemistry and computer sciences.
The association is an "only women organization" whose mission is to educate and encourage women about the impact of daily actions (overconsumption, waste, etc.) and on the environment by adapting minimalist eco-responsible practices. (adopt a minimalist lifestyle, declutter the house, reduce compulsive shopping, selective sorting of waste, etc.). The association also aims to develop and popularize exchanges between women scientists and environmentalists and housewives on several topical issues (carbon footprint, digital pollution, digital detox, greenhouse effect, zero waste, anti-waste law, circular economy, etc.).
One of the objectives of the UIFM is to support vulnerable women suffering from certain pathologies (syllogomania, Diogenes syndrome, oniomania, etc.) with a psychotherapist and a minimalism coach.
In an effort to instill the culture of sharing between minimalists and enforced minimalists, the association aims to support women below the poverty line around the world with fundraising and used goods.
