I located the part "Buddha's Final Release" in the book you are linking to and read the chapter, in order to see if the image can be useful further down in the article. However, its connection to the topic, i.e. Ātman (Hinduism) remains weak and has to be deduced. The term "Atman" is not mentioned in the myth at all, and the term Nirvana (Buddhism) which is mentioned in the myth instead, is only used once in subsection Ātman (Hinduism)#Atman – the difference between Hinduism and Buddhism. My opinion remains that this image is not helpful for the article. Hoverfish Talk 16:25, 26 March 2015 (UTC)

FAC

Hoverfish, it has been quite awhile since we spoke for the last time. I hope you're doing well. I recently nominated Juan Manuel de Rosas for FAC, but the article is often ignored because of its obscure topic. If you have time and interest, could you review it? I'd be truly grateful. The link to the Featured Article Candidacy page is here. Regards, --Lecen (talk) 13:26, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi Lecen, I am marginally active in Wikipedia the last couple of years because of very limited time. Also, even in my more active days I didn't review GA's. But I see that the article is still tagged as Start-Class! I will raise it to C (I see a checklist by WikiProject Military history before I could raise it to B uncontroversially) and you should contact someone in WP:WPBIO to review it for GA before attempting an FA review. 2016 storm in Uruguay

Hi Hoverfish. Hope you are doing fine. I have just created an article about the tornado that devastated Dolores: 2016 storm in Uruguay. If you consider it convenient, please, publish about this fact on the Portal:Uruguay. Regards, --Fadesga (talk) 19:07, 16 April 2016 (UTC)

I am fine, thank you. What a terrible disaster! I added the text you wrote to the News section and also added the article the Help Expand section. Hoverfish Talk 11:55, 17 April 2016 (UTC)

--AnselmiJuan (discusión-comentarios) 23:58, 15 December 2016 (UTC)

Hola AnselmiJuan, ambas fotos las tomé a la misma hora. La diferencia en luminocidad del sol se debe a que se tratan de diferentes lados del hospital Maciel que estan ubicadas en calles perpendiculares. Saludos Hoverfish Talk 10:10, 16 December 2016 (UTC)

Question on file format

Hello Hoverfish, first of all I really like the recent work you are doing at the Film Festival articles. I am unable to do much these days due to my exams and office work. You are really making some excellent contributions.

Yes you can re-upload posters of png format, I don't mind at all. That goes for future posters also. Have a good day.--Jockzain (talk) 16:35, 24 June 2017 (UTC)

July 2017

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Scream (1996 film). Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 00:32, 6 July 2017 (UTC)

Thank you for warning me, I am very aware of the situation. This is the edit history of the page: [1] where it can be seen who is edit warring and who not. Hoverfish Talk 01:10, 6 July 2017 (UTC)

Film categories

Hi, I got you email. I think the main problem with the film categories is that there is no coherent and unified strategy which has led to these unilateral changes. In truth I don't even know what the Film project thinks its categories should do i.e. should they facilitate searches? are they there to simply summarise certain characteristics? I think this would be better discussed at the Film project and all the key members should state exactly what they think the primary function of the categories should be, and then perhaps we can put together a project-wide approach. Welcome back!

Hey, long time no see! It's great to have you back helping again with WP:FILMS. I haven't done too much editing here recently for articles nor kept up too much on ongoing discussions at the project. My focus recently has shifted to Commons where I've been doing categorization of San Diego-related images. I'll probably continue with that for awhile since I just discovered a large upload of a couple thousand images that all should be sorted. My work has become more demanding and am now taking classes for my MBA, so unfortunately have a lot less time on here. Keep up the good work, you are definitely an asset to the films project! --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 13:44, 14 July 2017 (UTC)

Universe (1960 film)

Hi there. Sorry I didn't realize that it was you who has amended the external link at Universe (1960 film) with this edit. You don't have to purchase i.e. download the film at NFB.ca you can stream it for free -- but it requires a browser that runs Adobe Flash. Where possible, I've been adding ELs to the NFB's YouTube channel which doesn't require Flash, with a cautionary note to readers per WP:RICHMEDIA that the NFB.ca EL does require Flash. But no YouTube video is available in this instance. Again, I'd changed it before realizing you'd recently edited the link so please let me know if it reads okay to you. I see you're on vacation. I'll keep a watch on this talk page -- enjoy your time off. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 20:00, 15 August 2017 (UTC)

Hey Shawn! I'm in Athens now and I do check shortly for a few days but then it gets more out there with less internet so I;m glad you'll keep an eye here. No problem with the revert since you know how it works out for free. Actually as soon as I can I'm interested to watch the film, so thanks for the tip as well. Cheers, have a nice time. Hoverfish Talk 20:23, 15 August 2017 (UTC)
Athens sounds lovely! Yeah I can't believe the NFB site is stuck in Flash esp. because, as I understand, Flash is near-death. take care, Shawn in Montreal (talk) 21:33, 15 August 2017 (UTC)

A case request in which you had been involved has been declined

Dear Hoverfish/Archive 5,

On behalf of the arbitration committee, I would like to inform you that the case request named "topic-banning Supermann from all pages related to film for one year" (in which you had been listed as involved party) has been declined. The committee concluded that has no jurisdiction on the issues involved in this case, and that therefore cannot be accepted.

Sincerely, Kostas20142 (talk) 16:30, 22 August 2017 (UTC)

Primetime Emmy Award

I have undone your changes to the Primetime Emmy Award because you have not discussed them in the talk page. I suggest you do that instead of just making changes without thinking about what other readers want. 181.170.27.119 (talk) 14:48, 10 February 2018 (UTC)

Hello, thank you for your kind message, I'm really sorry I actually forgot to add an edit summary. I think that page section and your last edit have some problem, I'd like to explain why. First of all it should be noted that the section Venice Days is an autonomous section, independently organize, and it's not officially part the Venice Film Festival, it only appears on the Biennale website because there's some sort of broad affiliation between the two. The real problem is with the section "Special Events" posted under Venice Days. Truth is there's no official Special Events section in the Venice Days program, there's only the Venice Days official competition and then there are lots and lots of micro-sections and independent screenings, that are pretty random and not really relevant. So we either list all of these out-of-section movies in that generic "Special Events" section or not. At the moment the Special Events section is not accurate, it only has a very small part of these titles and some of them are wrong. Like the ones I first modified and then deleted. I was part of the organization so I know that the movies that I deleted were part of a very minor section (like a section within the section within the section) that showed some work in progress short films, almost privately. Plus the translated title that you added doesn't match the actual movies. Also keep in mind that the archived screenshot listed in the references obviously doesn't show the updated titles, the movies I modified were first posted with some different working titles and later updated. So we either just leave them in their actual official language and final titles (which are Games, Tacoma and Fame in California) or we delete them because they are not relevant or accurate and don't belong there anyway. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cameronrooney (talkcontribs) 19:10, 20 April 2018 (UTC)

Venice 2012

Sounds good, thank you for your answer. I just want you to keep in mind that the Venice Days as you just noticed as a lot os subsections and films. As I said most of these sections should really be considered irrelevant (that's why they are called special projects etc...). Some of those films were screened almost privately while they were still works in progress. That's why I think it's important to remember that might not be appropriate, relevant, accurate or necessary to list of those minor side section and all of those films. If you think it's appropriate I think you have to obviously list every film in the right section. We either do it properly or just avoid that whole part. For instance the Di Zio films are now in the wrong section, they should go to the Special Projects section, and the official/original titles are the English ones. I can assure because I was there and I just double checked that those are the only official titles (Games, Tacoma, Fame in California). So since the original title is in English there should be one single title in the whole grid. I don't if that's the Italian translation or something, but it's not the original title and it's obviously not in English. So please keep in mind that. Anyway I'll keep an eye on that, if I see some mistake I'm gonna help you and correct it. cmrooney (talk) 21:05, 20 April 2018 (UTC)
